Bite Me

Flowerhorn Agression

Flowerhorns are known for their territorial behavior and shear aggression. I own a ZZ Red Dragon which to me seems like one of the more aggressive of the breed.  He is straight beast.  I watch youtube and see people petting their flowerhorns and holding them like a tamed fish figured I'd give it a try....big mistake.  Maybe you have to start at a early age because my flowerhorn bites and he bites hard.

I have been rescaping my tank so I figured I would give it a go.  So instead of pulling my hand out violently getting water everywhere I let him bite me. took one for the team I let him bite me thinking how bad can it be? Well the first twenty were not that bad I was like a champ.Yes I said twenty and like a dummy I just kept on letting him.  Then he started hitting the same spots over and over.  He sinks his teeth in and shakes trying to pull my skin off.  He is straight best.  I had to learn to defend myself from the attacking dragon. Fish boxing lol.

I started bumping his head against his bite so he couldn't time the bite. When he did time his bite he made sure it counted. I literally had my finger in his mouth up to my knuckle and not by choice. They do have teeth and they will use them. he actually drew blood and the outside of my right hand looks pretty messed up. I take this as a challenge and now i spar with him. Stick and move and be first. I posted a vid of my arm being sacrificed for youtube.  Check it out I just started so it will get better I promise.
